Police step-up patrols after church raids


NEIGHBOURHOOD POLICING TEAM UPDATE: CRIMINAL DAMAGE -We have encountered an ongoing problem with the church in Marsden suffering from graffiti and damage by unknown people. Patrols have increased and the church is checked on a regular basis. Could all residents please be vigilant and report any suspicious people hanging around the vicinity of the church. As you can see from the pictures, this is something that is not acceptable and we want to resolve the issue as soon as possible. * BURGLARY - Bargate Motors, Bargate, Linthwaite, Sept 9. Raider got into yard of car garage by snapping chain on gate and forcing door lock to get inside building. Tools, welding equipment and Vauxhall Frontera stolen - vehicle later recovered. Didactec, Peel Street, Marsden, Sept 13. Raider got into engineering workshop through unlocked reception door and stole angle grinder. Longwood, Sept 9. Door to wooden shed in back garden pulled open and petrol lawnmower stolen.


ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOUR -Scholes Cricket Club is suffering from youths attacking the benches and causing minor fires. Could we ask that everyone remain vigilant and report anything that they deem suspicious.

VEHICLE CRIME - Golcar, Sept 9. Grey Peugeot 205 reg no K277 ODY stolen. Marsden, Sept 8. Person/s unknown and unseen stole vehicle from a residential driveway and made good escape in an unknown direction.
