Self-closing Hinges Youll Love What They Do For You

You have probably seen or used them at some point. Self-closing hinges are a great way to make sure a door stays shut when not in use. Instead of being like a regular door hinge that has to be pushed shut, self-closing hinges automatically do the job for you, closing the door once you let go. Think of when you are preparing a meal. You are grabbing all the ingredients in your hands, and without a hand to spare lean against the cabinet doors to make sure they are shut. With self-closing hinges, you can avoid that and just let the doors close themselves.

Recently I had repair work performed on my garage door opener. If I had not been insistent on doing more troubleshooting, I would have either paid for a new computer board or a new garage door opener, when in fact it was just the switch and the remote opener that had gone bad. To add further concern, the same service guy told me that if I called him personally (and gave me his cell number), he would perform any garage door work cheaper than if he did it during his 9-5 "job" hours. Needless to say, I wasn't comfortable with this. I probably won't call and tell the company about this, but I can assure you I will not use them again. However, if the company would have sent a survey or called me and asked about the service work, I certainly would have told them.Contacting your customers will help you gain valuable insight into the work performed in the field not to mention you've had another opportunity to have positive interaction with your customer to build trust. While self-closing hinges are relatively easy to install and let do their job, they do need a little maintenance. They will last for years if they are periodically checked on and given oil, as needed. In addition to self-closing hinges on cabinets, you can also have them put on a regular door. If you would like to keep certain doors shut in your house, this is a good way to make sure they go back to the closed position once someone goes through. You wont have too much of a problem finding self-closing hinges that match most regular doors as they are often made in all the same metals that you would find in your normal door hinges.Action Industries, Ltd. is a privately held designer, manufacturer and distributer of a wide range of products for the garage door industry including weatherseals, door hardware, accessories, fasteners, brushes, aluminum retainers, dock kits and cable products.
