Thieves have been getting in through unlocked windows and doors, prompting a fresh plea for householders to increase security measures.Blyth neighbourhood insp, Trevor Oakley, said: "A break-in can cause misery and inconvenience to householders, but when we're investigating these crimes it becomes apparent that a lot of them could have been avoided.THEFT - Honley, Sept 13. Thief unscrewed water pipe attachments and then made off with water trough."We would urge people to follow simple security advice like locking their doors and windows and leaving lights on when they're not at home, as this can make a real difference to protecting their property.
