Evacuation after arson raid on shed


ARSON -Shelley, July 11. Occupants of a house were evacuated after an arsonist got into back garden and dropped a lighted item through a broken shed window. The shed caught fire causing extensive damage to nearby decking area and garden furniture. The heat also caused damage to external wood, guttering and windows. BURGLARY - Almondbury, July 13. Raider climbed on to conservatory roof and opened unlocked front bedroom window and climbed inside, activating alarm. Nothing stolen. Dalton, July 17. Sneak raider got into house through back wooden conservatory door and stole electrical goods. Moldgreen, July 14. Suspect got on to driveway by cutting metal chain secured around gates, jemmied open wooden garage doors and stole two bikes. Soccer City, Tandem Industrial Estate, Waterloo, July 18. Small window on Portakabin forced open and computer laptop and cash stolen. Clayton West, July 9. Yorkshire stone paving slabs taken from garden. Flockton, July 9. Raiders got into yard by scaling perimeter fence and stole aluminium engine parts from open-fronted sheds. Shepley, July 12. Radiators and gas fire stolen from skip in garden.


Skelmanthorpe, July 10. Vauxhall Astra registration R?05 HBV stolen.ATTEMPTED BURGLARY -Almondbury, July 19. Attempt made to prise open back kitchen window with chisel. Suspect disturbed and made off on foot, but arrested short distance away. Almondbury, July 19. Ground floor rear window smashed but raider disturbed by occupants and made off empty handed.. * THEFT - Almondbury, July 17. Key pad used to open box next to front door and steal house key. Almondbury High School, Fernside Avenue, July 19. Bike left secured with combination lock in school grounds stolen.Firefighters were called to the first house at 3:20 a.m. to find flames coming from the garage, Lt. James Eddy said. Firefighters woke up the eight people sleeping inside the home and safely evacuated them.Front window smashed and music player stolen. BT Telephone Exchange, Busker Lane, Scissett, July 9. Windows of BT vehicles smashed and handbrakes released to move them forwards to get into back doors which were then forced open and power tools stolen. Denby Dale, July 9. Car window smashed to get inside vehicle and steal cash. Flockton, July 12. Chrome badges stolen from centre of two car wheels. Moldgreen, July 17. Back quarterlight window smashed and mobile phone stolen. Shepley, July 8. Nearside front window smashed and satnav stolen from the boot.
