Getting the best results from your web consultant

It's easy enough to pull together a few images, write some blurb about yourself and your company, and get it published as a website. Webmasters abound; from the guy next door who does it in his garage, to upscale web design companies offering all the bells and whistles. It's difficult not to have a web presence these days.

Be responsive to requests for information from your web consultant. For a consultant, nothing is more frustrating than having to chase clients up on promised information. The design calls for 12 spaces on site, and Barlogie and Brandt have signed a lease with a property owner across Cantrell for an additional 13 to 25 spaces. That same lot also provides parking spaces for Union, a bar and restaurant adjacent to the B&B site. When engaging a web consultant, first be clear on what you want out of the process. Giving a vague brief like "it has to be useful" just doesn't cut it. Determine your short and long term goals. What do you want to get out of the website? Is it to generate revenue, build brand image, enhance customer service, distribute information or build relationships?Don't be suckered by Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). There're plenty of dubious companies promising 'first page' results on Google. Just be wary about what this means for you. No one can guarantee 'first page' results on a search engine, and anyone who does may just be running an Adwords campaign masquerading as 'results', or even engaging in what is termed 'black hat' techniques in the industry - unscrupulous tricks that force your site further up the results pages, and that, if discovered, may result in your site being banned or 'blocked' from search results.A web consultant's role is often to provide a fresh pair of eyes and an honest opinion. Rather than thinking you know best, give them the freedom to do their job and come up with ideas. The city requires one parking space for every 100 SF of floor area, including patio or outdoor seating. The proposed restaurant would be about 2,252 SF, so it would need to have 22 parking spaces.Article by Rachel Reynolds, communications specialist. http://rachel-reynolds-blog. blogspot.comBart Barlogie Jr. and Wilson Brandt plan to open B&B Taco Garage at the corner of Mart Drive and Old Cantrell Road, in a former filling station for Alltel's fleet.
