Country Club adds to Britomart precinct

The latest addition to the rapidly growing Britomart hospitality scene in Auckland's downtown district is a large-scale, open-air bar serving wood-fired pizzas, high tea and gourmet barbecues. The Britomart Country Club features a pizza kitchen and bar housed in shipping containers, opening onto a landscaped garden furnished with cushioned banquettes and antique furniture. The aesthetic is one of witty contrasts, from the antique stable doors housing the DJ station to the solid marble bar In the raw steel container.

By the middle of April, six more food and beverage businesses will have opened in or adjacent to new buildings Westpac on Takutai Square and the new Ernst&Young building - including Japanese restaurant and bar Eblsu and Precinct Cafe, both in the Union Fish Company Building. These businesses will help provision the 2100 staff of Westpac, Ernst&Young and Southern Cross Medical Care Society who will move into the upper floors of the new buildings from March. They are also expected to be well patronised by shoppers attracted to the new luxury stores of the Atrium. These include fragrance and beauty stores Jo Malone and L'Occitane, two new Nike flagship stores and Luiuiemon Athietica, an international yoga-inspired apparel brand.
